My name is Kris Binkowski and I have been crafting since I was a young girl.  I started doing paper crafting in 2015. I was originally looking for a way that my special needs son could be creative. He was very artistic and loved making things but his medical condition was making it more difficult for him to be able to do them on his own. I ordered a small Cricut Bug to make cards with him. I fell in love with the machine and got a bigger one for myself. That eventually turned into me having every machine Cricut makes, a Silhouette Cameo, and a heat press (for making t shirts).

I originally started making cards for friends and family for special occasions and then ventured into vinyl work. I made glass blocks for children's rooms and as holiday decorations. My son and I then started designing and creating canvas holiday decorations and shadow boxes. I found it very therapeutic and relaxing to work on various creations for others. Over time, I had several friends who suggested I really should think of doing this as a side business.

As friends asked me to create different gifts for them, my motto came to be..."If you can imagine it, I can create it!" The only limitation to what I can make is your imagination. Through the years, basically from friends' requests and ideas for gifts, I have created glass blocks, baby stat. frames, baby onesies, nursery decorations, decorative wine glasses and tumblers, holiday decorations, scrapbook pages, t-shirts, custom cards, note cards (yes, some people still write notes) and so much more!

My husband, David, who is an artist in his own right, started helping me with my orders and designs and we decided to start a new business together...thus the birth of Binks' Handmade Haven!

 

Why we love what we do.....

 

We love taking someone's idea and making it a reality! We love seeing the look on their faces when they receive their finished project...even though they saw it from all stages from start to finish. In an age where there is so much commercialism and everything is the same and mass produced, we love offering unique and creative pieces for any occasion.
